FAQs
Common questions about Re:generation
How does Re:gen work?
Re:generation is a biblical 12-step process structured within the context of small groups.
Your first couple of months will be spent in a Groundwork group. Once you have completed the Groundwork curriculum, demonstrated a willingness to participate, and decided that you want to move forward, you will be placed into a step-group to go through the 12 steps.
Step-groups have a set number of participants and leaders. Once a step-group is launched, no new members will be added. For the next 8 to 10 months you will progress through the steps using daily curriculum along with other step-group members.
What if I don’t have a chemical addiction?
Re:generation is not focused solely on chemical addiction. It is designed for everyone. God’s steps of healing can free you from any habit, hurt, or hangup that is a barrier in your life.
Many people come in order to discover the source of their pain. You will always be welcome regardless of the struggle.
How long does it take?
The entire Re:generation process takes about a year.
Groundwork groups take about 2 months, Step-groups take 8 to 10 months.
The Groundwork curriculum lessons take about 10 minutes per day while Step-group curriculum takes about 30 minutes per day.
30 minutes a day with God for one year working on your recovery will change your life.
What is a typical meeting like?
We gather together during the first 45 minutes to worship and hear a testimony or teaching.
The large gathering will then break into smaller groups for the remainder of the time: Groundwork groups and Step-groups all meet separately for the next hour and 15 minutes.
All together, the gathering lasts about 2 hours.
Is childcare provided?
Yes! Childcare is provided for ages 6 weeks—grade 12.
Is it free to attend?
Yes! Re:generation is free to attend. We will have books available for purchase as you choose to continue through the program.
When can I start?
You are welcome any Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm.
We start in the Sanctuary at Hallmark Church.
Do I have to believe in God to attend?
No, Re:generation is a safe place for questions or doubts which are keeping you from a relationship with God.
In Groundwork and Steps 1-3 you will be introduced to how God provides a way to freedom and healing through His Word, His Spirit, and His People.
How are groups structured?
All small groups are split by gender, but not by presenting struggle. Groups with mixed struggles help participants to focus more on the spiritual brokenness behind their struggles (heart transformation).
Groundwork groups (first 7+ weeks of recovery) are always open to new participants. Participants can come as infrequently as they desire. To advance to a step group, participants must show consistency in attendance and complete Groundwork curriculum.
Step groups often have an 8/1, participant to leader ratio. Step groups are closed to new participants once launched. Participants have small group leader support, accountability with other group participants, and a mentor outside of the group. A step group typically takes about 9 months to complete the 12-step curriculum.
Do I get to choose my group?
No, we form groups based on attendance in the Groundwork groups.
